Bands are like relationships. In the beginning everything is hearts and roses, but there can come a time when artistic differences regarding the music or the direction can break the relationship and end in heartache. To help avoid some of the conflict, band members should consider entering into the equivalent of a prenup - a partnership agreement, which sets out who will get what in the event that one or more members want to go their separate ways. It is much easier to determine who will get to keep the band name or the division of the band bank account when everyone is on good terms and in a rational frame of mind!
